Why managing mental health is your start up's secret weapon
Plus: Science Award winners announced, VC vibe shift and open banking on is way sooner than expected.
Welcome to Friday
We’ve made it once again to the end of the week. Pat yourselves on the back and ready yourselves for the weekend. Speaking of switching off, we’re starting today with a great chat with Dr. Angela Lim from Clearhead about the necessity of managing mental health in startups.
We don’t discuss startup burn out nearly as much as we should and it is a really valuable conversation. As Angela points out, 72% of startup founders struggle with mental health challenges, including stress, anxiety and depression. They’re also more than twice as likely to take their own lives. That’s a crisis.
Luckily, there’s teams like hers doing the mahi to help startups prioritise mental health support but there’s obviously still a long way to go.
Elsewhere we get into the latest from space, the latest from science and the latest from AI as well as unpacking the VC vibe shift and big moves on open banking. Let’s get into it!
