They are the load-bearing pillars of our economy and like all load-bearing pillars, we rarely think about them - until they start to crack.

If you’ve followed tech or politics lately, you’ve probably encountered the term “semiconductor supply chain” wait, come back;—I promise this will be interesting. 

Semiconductors are the most essential, ubiquitous and difficult to produce commodities on Earth.  

They’re the computer chips powering for modern life. They keep phones ringing, missiles flying, Tesla’s driving and GPTs chatting. If last century was the oil age, this is certainly the silicon one.
